Atoka String Quartet is an award-winning private events ensemble founded by violinist Dr. Tara Planeta, to bring her performing career closer to home in Virginia Horse & Wine Country aka Hunt Country.  While we absolutely still perform in Washington D.C. and surrounding metropolitan region, we especially love and value the local community, and are proud of all the beautiful venues and countryside that Loudoun & Fauquier Counties have to offer.

Our musicians are formally educated in music performance and pedagogy, and have decades of varied professional performing experience.  We are also actively involved in music education which includes teaching at private and public schools in and around Northern Virginia.

Every event requires a different energy & style of music.  From understated elegance to upbeat entertainment, we customize our set list to provide the right ambience for your event.  Atoka Strings encompasses a multi-genre repertoire including classical, pop, rock, jazz, and special requests.  When it comes to our clients, we enjoy going above and beyond to accommodate the special atmosphere that clients envision.
